Instagram Engagement Rate Calculator
Follower count is vanity; engagement rate is what brands, algorithms and buyers actually evaluate. Enter your follower count and the likes and comments from your recent posts (up to five) to get your true average engagement rate — and see how it stacks up for your account size.
How it works
Engagement rate = (likes + comments) ÷ followers × 100, averaged across the posts you enter. Using 3–5 recent posts smooths out the outliers — one viral reel or one flop won't distort your real baseline.
Benchmarks shift with size because reach does: nano accounts (<10k) often sustain 4–6%+, micro (10–100k) 2–4%, mid (100k–500k) 1.5–2.5%, and large accounts frequently sit below 1.5% while still being extremely valuable. A 3% rate at 50k followers is genuinely strong.
FAQ
Depends on size: under 10k followers, 4%+ is strong; 10–100k, 2–4% is healthy; above 100k, anything over 1.5% is solid. Falling below 1% at any size usually signals a stale audience or content-audience mismatch.
